One training day we discussed what had happened to a Blackwater team on Route Irish. The guy leading the training had lost a friend in the incident. I know it sounds cold, but whenever an event happens, all the other guys doing this type of work talk it over and discuss how you fucked up. What did you do, what did you not do? The strange thing is, every job I have done since, when I look back, it was mainly luck that I was not blown up. The learning curve was pretty steep.
